As the Sun God, “Re” was thought to voyage across the sky in a boat during the twelve hours of daylight. He was considered to be a potent life force, responsible for, health, children, virility, and all good harvests. Possibly, he was responsible for the Pyramids themselves. When looking to the sky, the Ancient Egyptians saw the shape of a Pyramid as the rays of light from the sun came down through the clouds to the earth, as “Re” himself came down to the earth. Later, “Re” joined with the god “Amun” to become the most powerful deity in Egypt , “Amun-Re”.
